NEW YORK — Video released early Tuesday shows a man dragging his pregnant girlfriend’s lifeless body out of a car and dumping her on the side of a highway in Queens.
The suspect in the apparent murder of a pregnant New York woman and her unborn child has been arrested.
Vanessa Pierre, a 29-year-old nurse practitioner who was six months pregnant, was found dead along a highway in Queens on Friday morning.
Pierre’s boyfriend, Goey Charles, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder on Sunday.
The city medical examiner’s office confirmed Tuesday morning that Pierre had been strangled. She died of asphyxia due to compression of the neck, and the death has been ruled a homicide, a spokeswoman said.
