But PC gamers have always been much more free in the regard of having control over their games, even if physical releases died out earlier on the platform. PC games can be cracked, modded, and redistributed, allowing for better preservation of games whereas console players have little to no control over viewing and manipulating the files on their device and rely on physical media for preservation as a result. PC gamers can also pirate just about any game they want to play, so they don't face the same risk of being priced out of their games as console players do.
I also doubt that the average PC player will embrace cloud gaming more than the average console player. PC owners spend thousands on their device and typically value control over their software and highly performant gameplay. Cloud gaming opposes both of these things. The more casual console audience will be far more likely embrace cloud gaming, as they are already more used to low control, low fidelity, high latency gameplay experiences.
