Weaponry doesnt matter much. No one can fight the military of a developed country. it's about cohesion of the men if put into a cause. Protests come in all ways, including work strikes which is more effective than armed resistance.

Furthermore, the Korean military being made of conscripts mean the society is much more interwined with the military in general, gaining much needed sympathy

Unfortunately, there aren't any political organizations in South Korea that have tapped into this potential force. Mostly because mainstream right-wing parties are all controlled opposition. I hope to see something akin to veterans' organizations and brownshirts of Weimar Germany appear in my country.

Agitating them is another problem, but seeing that youth unemployment and inceldom are at critical levels in South Korea, I suppose it is quite feasible (relatively speaking). The lumpenproletariat is already being used by leftist parties as their armed wing(antifa).
