I suggest a forgotten gem - Forgotten Hope 2. A free mod for Battlefield 2, WW2 with tanks and planes, 100 players on Saturdays.

It has been alive for a decade, and not gonna die anytime soon. They're even gonna release 3 new Ostfront maps in the next month or so. Honestly, I love the modding spirit, from gamers for gamers, for free.

But Hell Let Lose and Post Scriptum can finally be THE WW2 tactical shooter games. They won't have Ostfront maps though.
