I'm not going homeless rn, but I'm thinking about willingly going homeless for how expensive the rent is here.

When I first got here, I assumed my rent would by paid by the jobcentre/dwp.
The rent being £625, while I had to pay £100, so I actually had some money left over to buy food, essentials and pay my debts.
So rn, I'm getting £504, twice a month.

Well recently, I was told by the property manager that the landlord has not been receiving the £625, but he has been receiving £100 from me.

After I spoke to the jobcentre and my probation officer about this, it turns out that I need to pay £312, twice a month and that £100 top up to cover that £725.

If I split that in half and pay £362, that'll leave me with £142 for one half of the month.
That may sound OK to live off of, but prices for goods and essentials are going up.
And these debts I have to pay off take a big bite out of my finances.

As much as being homeless in a tent had its issues, at least I had some money for myself and not paying nearly £1000 for a small room in a sharehouse.

Being homeless isnt that bad honestly, I think in your situation you have a lot of freedom considering the fact the outcome doesnt matter, if you can stay and rent cool you can live in a room, if not oh well, just relax outside basically.

I handled homelessness last year like a champ.
I was still receiving UC payments, siplifted when I needed to and never begged for food or change like some of the other chumps on town did.

This one soup kitchen here lets you store your belongings with them, but another one is a little assy about it.

This is because their massive pussies about possibly losing somebodies stuff, which they did once and tjlhats because they didn't label them

I have like £1100 a month after rent

They had it coming :feelzez::feelzez:

hopefully this wasn’t enough to be on the news so you don’t deal with white knight fags harassing you

£725 for a room? Sounds like the South West are tryna copy Londonistan prices.

Wouldn't going homeless massively increase your food costs since you'd have no cooking facilities? Or are you just gonna shoplift again?

Thankfully, local news never reported on it and I never had to deal with white knight fags

That's kinda a drawback, but foods already pricey anyway.

They sell a box of fish fingers at tesco here for £5

If I did get caught shoplifting again, I'll definitely do time in prison again

Brutal. The council doesn't want to be your betabuxx deluxe.

Of course not, silly, I'm a Caucasian, heterosexual, Anglo saxon male.

I'm not prioritised for anything!
In the same boat. Then again the government was kind enough to give me NEETbux a couple years ago so that's nice.

I hate first world countries so much. Fuck em seriously.

My local council where kind enough to house me before this tall aryan poleslag, a pakette and this fat bitch last year, so I guess they were feeling merciful

I don't know how you think about it, but maybe go homeless for late spring, summer and early autumn and then get government subsidized housing for the cold season?

They can, but I got housed here just before the winter season

Wow. That's some third world tier shit. You'd think this wouldn't happen in western countries. That's why people have to be on guard against exploitation all the time.

I don't even live in a city, I live in a medium sized town.

Some places to rent in smaller towns here are are also pretty pricey too

I'm thinking though, when you're homeless, with that extra money left over, what is you can actually buy/ use? I suppose more food and drinks, but everything else you need a space of your own, with electricity, basic amenities etc.

When you were homeless before, what did you do with the extra money?

Spend it on bills, clothing or some other shit to put in storage until I get housed

I suppose you just have to decide which situation you prefer, all things considered. More money, but you're homeless, or you have a place to stay, sleep, electricity etc. with less money. Are you still leaning towards the homeless side?

Mogs me into oblivion

How was it like being homeless before, I think I never asked you this question.

It was like camping.

I spent my days using the Internet at the library, going to soup kitchens and shop lifting when I was low on cash.

I always toyed around with the concept of being homeless for a bit. I know my way around the city I live in via. Walking everywhere since being in High School, from Coffee shops to the Library and everywhere in-between that wouldn’t kick me out whilst open, plus i’d have more freedom away from my occasionally unhinged Mother in her house.

Good luck bro. I've also just quit my job last week. Was either that or roping, tbh.

Deffo focus on houseshares and cheap areas if you want low rent although I think housing just scales to whatever your rent is anyway.

That being said... if the bills are included strangely that may help loads.
