Actually Africa was kinda advanced, more than spain, portugal or france. Europe was on their worst era but so many wars lead them to better weapons. Australians are brown/red skin btw.

Australians are clearly European origin, so they are classified as white, no one is pure white the same way no one is pure black
Let's remember that Africa and Europe were not a single bloc, and there were poor and rich peoples. Many African kingdoms and civilizations had high levels of political, commercial, urban, and technological development, and in some aspects, they surpassed specific European regions at certain times. But it cannot be said in general terms that all of Africa was more advanced than Europe during colonization. In any case, European countries at that time were poor, so they had to resort to crime, going out to steal, rape, and kill (does that sound familiar?).

The Mali Empire and later the Songhai Empire controlled enormous trade networks and wealthy cities like Timbuktu, famous for its universities, libraries, and Islamic studies.
Great Zimbabwe built monumental stone complexes without mortar between the 11th and 15th centuries.
The Kingdom of Benin had urban planning, enormous walls, and impressive metalwork.
In the Horn of Africa, the Ethiopian Empire had a written tradition, monumental architecture, and ancient state structures.
And let's not forget where much of the foundation of mathematics comes from. It's not about race, that were the jews who made racism a big deal to make 2 sides.
Nope. Those were some of the wealthiest and most advanced parts of Europe in the middle ages. The best parts of (non-Arab) Africa could've been comparable or better than the worst and least-developed parts of Europe (the Baltics, Balkans, territories of current-day Belarus and Ukraine), but none of them were comparable to the best that Europe offered.
