I don't think it's crazy but I think there are many alien civilizations in the universe, given its vast size and number of planets. The reason we never had any contact with them are many - they don't want to be found, we or they don't have the tech to receive signals, they are too far away for us to receive signals or it would take thousands of years for them to reach us, they don't want to be found because they are scared or they don't know we are here for some reason.
