Youmna ElSayed, in Gaza:
Authorities had warned that at 2pm local time (11:00 GMT) electricity would be cut off because the power plant was running out of fuel. An hour later, the electricity was completely cut off.
Without electricity, hospitals will have to rely on their emergency generators, which, they tell us, will only last for two to four days.
This also means there will be no running water or working elevators in tower blocks. We will be in complete darkness tonight.
We won’t be able to charge our phones or watch TV to follow the news.
Gaza has been taken back centuries and into the medieval ages. Gaza is on the verge of collapse.
