Video games are just a form of coping, all purely psychological addictions are merely symptoms of another problem. Focusing on something like "video game addiction" is basically the same as trying to take away guns to stop mass killings, it's enormously missing the point, likely deliberately.

I mean by definition, ANY addiction is a mental disorder, however when I think of mental disorders I think of autism, aspergers, schizophrenia etc. Not an addiction

The wound would close otherwise, it's tissue damage, the body will repair it. Seems really disgusting and prone to infection tbh.
you can get addicted to anything, why give it separate diagnosis criteria - that was literally their argumentation why they didn't include Internet porn addiction (which I believe to be a bigger epidemic)
