Galatea v3 is my robowaifu project, a companion/social robot I designed, and 3D printed, and her design and instructions are available for anyone to build. She is relatively cheap, only about $500-550 to build, and is deliberately made simple to build, like a large model kit. Her AI is based on a small local offline AI model. The design is very modular, and there are many options you can choose while building her.
