I mean, this sounds crazy, but here's three numbers to think about:

1. African-Americans are more likely to grow up in a single-parent household.


2. African-American students generally spend less time doing homework. Is it because of the lack of parental supervision? Who knows.


3. African-American students test extremely poorly in math, a subject which does require consistent practice.


Is it really a surprise that Asian-Americans are overrepresented in middle- and upper-middle-class STEM professions while African-Americans are underrepresented? There has to be a reason for that, right?
