If you can't stop buying it you could switch some of the drinking days for weed, that way your kidneys and liver won't take such a beating, once you notice the symptoms your organs are already damaged so quit/cut back before you get there. It is also better to drink small amounts frequently than binge on some days. Usually people who drink too much don't notice the damage until their 40s or 50s, but binge drinkers can fuck themselves up before 30.

all of them are alcoholics and guess what happened to all of them in the past couple of years? they all got diagnosed with various cancers. they went through treatment and posted the pictures of them in the ICU.
and guess what else? last I heard they still drink lol
best believe it. you can get cancer anytime from now until your mid 50s if you drink a lot.
i binge drink once every month or two months but I'd still rather not drink at all. hopefully I stop altogether.

I wasn't "addicted" to alcohol but wanted to fully cut it without binging when making this thread because I was starting to do it too often for my liking. Haven't drank since even though I know not many days have passed since this thread and it hasn't passed in my mind to drink. Your post is also helping

I use to think I couldn’t quit either but the hangovers did a very good job of getting me to stop

Go talk to your doctor about it, he may prescribe you some mild benzos to help you wean off the alcohol.
Then you will be weaned off the mild benzos and that would be it.
Do not take more benzos than prescribed as they can be as addicting as alcohol and as dangerous.

I didn't go too far with it so stopping cold turkey is fine for me. I had one, two mild cravings for the past few weeks and didn't succumb so all good
Some time before I made this thread it stopped feeling good for me too but I gave in to the craving and felt bad for it that's why I made the thread
