Friendship is based on personality, romantic relationships require attraction

Seriously a relationship where the person is with you because of your personality would just be a friendship, romantic relationships require an attraction for it to happen.
So personality cannot get you a girlfriend or a date if you do not have good looks.
Think about it, people have friends because they enjoy their personality, they do not want a romance with their friend unless the friend is good looking.

I think you're forgetting the halo effect. I've rarely seen an ugly guy have a genuine female friend. When I say friend, I mean real friendship where she actually wants to hang out with him. It's rare to even find an actual Chad friend like that (and no, being roommate's doesn't really count).

People are drawn to those who they find attractive and similar to them, someone they can get advice for on common problems people have (ie. Relationships) . How are they going to go to places like clubs with an ugly guy?
