Do you honestly think that there is a magical part of your brain that truly act freely everything in the universe must obey the laws of physics including your brain if I were to throw all up into the air if I knew all the parameters in the system I could calculate the trajectory of the ball at any point in time because the ball must follow the laws of physics the same is true for any process in the brain like making a decision in principle every decision you ever make can be predicted if all the parameters of your brain are known in fact brain scanners can now predict your decisions in an isolated environment seven seconds before you are even aware of making them yes that is right I said seven seconds even on the extremely small probability that quantum mechanics changes your predicted position it would be a random position so you still wouldn't have true freewill your conscious brain is only about 17% of the volume of your whole brain you don't even realize what is really going on in your brain even though it seems like you do you are just a process the only thing that keeps yourself you is your memory there have been countless cases of when people lose their memory that become entirely different people with different religions and views think about the consequences of this life become to the biggest practical joke ever we just become conscious meetings just observing and experiencing with no true control to what really happens to us for every position we make is just a response to your environment from your genetics at a given time it may feel light you are free but your next decision can be predicted before you are even aware of making it you are not as free as you sins you are after acknowledging the fact that we are just a bunch of particles according to Standard Model of particle physics in a naturalistic universe how could true free will exist at all it seems absurd to think of such an idea I know that this video may be uncomfortable to agree with but it's not about how you feel it's about the truth even though it may seem like you have free will that doesn't excuse the most reasonable conclusion that you experience it as an illusion.
