Trouble is, forgiveness upfront without any evidence of behavior change is taking a huge gamble purely on faith. It would probably be more prudent to wait and see for behavioral change that would be indicative of things like remorse. OP's correct in that people can take advantage of your forgiveness, but I don't agree with the premise that it's inherently cucked, because you can take that huge chance on forgiveness, get burned, and then learn your lesson for the future.
