Now, let me tell you a different story. Back in the time I was discussing with a Karen who hated religion. As we talked, she explained to me how old-school Christianity was evil, she said :

Back in my grand mother's time, there was a woman who was beaten by her husband. She went to talk to a priest and said she wanted to leave him. The priest answered : "you will die under the blows of your husband, but you will not leave him".

(This happened in France, a catholic country, so divorce was forbidden.)

I don't know if the Karen was telling me the truth. I don't know if her grand mother told her the truth. I don't know if this woman told the truth to her grand mother.

But the more I think about this, the more I believe that this priest was incredibly based.
