While I don't know the specific motive/reason for this case, there are a lot of reasons why this kind of thing happens. I would say the root of the problem is that life in general keeps getting shittier by the day, and people just don't want to acknowledge the blackpill, so they resort to bluepilled advices that don't work. Maybe because they don't want to give an effort to make a change.
