Hopefully you are working in a place like Seattle where there's a regulatory fee of around 27 bucks (for any delivery job) plus the delivery you make on top. You can pretty decent money. I did it for a little bit until I had move out of the state for family reasons. Try to be available around busy times (i.e. weekends) and refuse any orders that do not tip.
Avoid Walmart orders. Don't take anything under 5$ as it'll be a hassle. Most low tip orders are actually more effort than the higher ones.
Have all the apps on at the same time, don't just do one at a time. Sometimes I will have an Uber order and get a doordash order going in the same direction, so you get double the pay.
Just feel it out. Been doing it for 5+ years as a main income thing.
Do regular car maintenance obviously. Oil changes, tires, brakes, etc.
Dinner rush is always better. 5pm - 9pm. Weekends are really good as well (all day)
