Because of having a second X to fall back on whereas men can't afford to have such a defect on the only one they have. Some examples of disorders in which this is the case Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, X-linked Severe Combined Immunodeficiency, Sex-Determination Disorders and more some only affecting men because of being linked to Y and not being found in foids at all.
