why its like this

i would guess it stems from the whole "sexual selection" shit which seems to have put foids in charge of in nature. 2 ways. 1, since they can only produce 1 offspring per year, with an arduous physical process at that, they are extremely picky. 2, though you can be decent on an individual level such as showing a subhuman or crippled person kindness or love, it doesnt do the species a benefit in long term.
