Something Americans don't see is how when the EU faces obstacles, they can just change policies and then what was an obstacle isn't a problem anymore.

Yeah the EU will grow. Nobody wants to leave the EU except Britain. Even though the EU has alot of nonsence that comes with it ,it brings with it economic growth. Today for example most EU produced buses are assembled in Poland. Just 20 years ago these countries were shit holes but now are becoming economically okay.

And it also means you can specialize and get economies of scale. Instead of each country trying to do a little bit of everything, they can go big on areas where they naturally are good at.

And with the movement of people around Europe, they can recruit technically skilled people from all over Europe. Like in the USA we have Hollywood for tv and movies, Pennsylvania for Steel, New Jersey for chemicals, Detroit for automobiles, Houston for energy and on and on.

So Poland can be experts at building busses, and companies which build busses can have large operations in Poland. And with 445 million people in the EU a bunch of cities will be ordering new busses all the time. And spare parts for the busses they have.

And while they are the greatest country at resources production they aren't a great power in technology. So if the EU got all of Ukraine, the EU then goes from 445 million, adding 41 million to get to 486 million and then is right on Russia's border which a lot of Russians and Ukrainians go back and forth across the border in Eastern Ukraine. If the EU gets things together and is booming economically.. a lot of people in Russia would then want to just join the EU. And how long before Belarus went to a democracy and joined the EU.

So I think Russia has no choice but to get China to help them if it wants to not get absorbed into the West. And Iran is another country with China behind them. So we get the wars in Iraq, Libya, Syria and Ukraine where West and East meet.
