Yesterday evening, I attended a family gathering for a holiday. Overall, it was fine, but one particular thing really got on my nerves.
My 13-year-old cousin—who’s an insufferably smug and excessively petulant brat—recently got a boyfriend (he’s 16 and probably mogs her), and for no reason at all, she decided to mock me. I was relaxing on the couch alone, minding my own business, when she suddenly looked at me and said something along the lines of how shocking and pathetic it is that I’m almost 19 and have never had a girlfriend, whereas she’s only 13 and already in a relationship. Her senseless lack of tact caught me off guard—though I shouldn’t have been surprised, as this kind of behavior is typical of the female species, especially at a young age.
I remained silent, but inside I was livid. Honestly, I wanted to beat the shit out of her for that disrespectful remark
. I know I’m not attractive—I know it's over. But that kind of open mockery, especially at a supposed "family" setting, just confirmed for me that even your own blood won’t respect you if you lack validation from women.
It’s clear she has a two-dimensional perspective on life and can’t begin to fathom the disparities between our lives, but it was still brutal, and I wanted to share it. It seems to me that no matter what—no matter where I go—I am unable to escape the brutal fate I have been consigned to, and I am always reminded of my inescapable suffering
