It tastes and smells terrible, filled with bones, contains toxins. I can't believe people pay for it and eat it willingly.

Agreed. I hate most fish for the reasons you listed. I quite like sardines though, which is strange. Even anchovies if they are in a good dish.
That's a part of what makes is unappealing for me honestly. It tastes and feels like alien meat. And the skin is often very slimy.

Yes. It would have scarred me for life. When I was a kid, people tried to get me to eat canned sardines, but the smell was horrendous.
Octopus also fucking sucks. I don't care how "delicious" it is, the texture is so chewy and slimy. The one I tried at least.
