Finasteridemaxxing

I'm not norwooding yet, but I might have the genetics, so I want to get on finasteride as a form of prevention
is anyone on it? does it work?
I know people are afraid of the side effects, but most websites say they're temporary and minor
it seems to be the only scientifically proven way to keep your hair (besides dutasteride, but it's not used in my country), why isn't it commonly recommended (I've only seen mentions of minoxidilmaxxing)?
