I think that entire female liberation which is now the female privilege, not exclusively feminism movements, are the results of the modern soyciety and consumerism, it comes with it, and it was done by richer more modern countries and slowly it spread out throughout the world as "real values" pushed by more advanced societies. Old values were that foids were lesser than the men but pampered and guarded as such, now that stayed plus they got the privilege of doing the male things.
