Good morning, boyos. Have any of you brothers had a hair transplant before? I'm looking to get one so I can look human again. I've consulted with a few doctors. My first choice denied me because of my age (25) and uncertainty of final hair loss pattern, even though I have regrown/stabilized my hair loss. The other quoted me for 2500 grafts, he charges 1.5 euro/graft. My dilemma is I want one now. I would pay the 2.5 euros for the one who denied me charges, but he won't do it right now and I want to just fix this issue while I have the cash. The doctor who accepted me has all the credentials, it's just he doesn't have as many results posted online, like the other does.

I've already been on finasteride for 18 months and minoxidil for a year. Should I pull the trigger now, or wait until my first choice accepts me, which could be who knows how long? I want to end this nightmare soon.

Bit late replying to this but I had a hair transplant done last august. It is a definite improvement however the problem is the density (closeness and amount of the hairs in certain areas) is not that great. The reason for this is that I too went to a surgeon who only charged £1.50 per graft which is a great rate but not as quality as world class suregons.

She lowered the hairline down by over a centimetre and filled in the whole top but as I said with the density of the transplanted hair being inadequate it left me with a hairline which is a bit thin and see through when I lift it. For now I've been using concealer to hide this which makes it look okay but I plan on getting another one to thicken it up further and get the hairline straightened a bit more as well as getting my temples done.

The doctor I'm planning to go to is Erdogan at Asmed in Turkey if that helps.

BTW there was no pain at all involved in mine because the procedure leaves all of the affected areas numb for weeks/months. The only slight pain is the injection of the anaesthetic but I'm fine with that because it's like less than a pin prick .After that it literally feels like you are wearing a helmet for the rest of the procedure.

Thanks for the reply. I have diffuse loss, but I've maintained and regrown some. I'm confident with being on dutasteride, minoxidl and ru58841 I can have a fullhead of hair for the next 15 years give or take. I seem to be diffusing in ththe NW4-5 pattern. Erdogan denied me, Dr. Ekrem Civas is the one who quoted me for 2500 grafts. He's ISHRS and ABRHS board certified which makes me gravitate towards him, plus the results he's produced. Leaning towards him.

So erdogan was the one who denied you due to your age? Shit. I think whatever you can get is worth a shot. I do t have faith in Rogaine or propecia because 90 percent of my loss happened while I was on both but if you feel like it’s helping carry on bud.

Even if you get a cheaper surgeon it will still be an improvenent. It’s just how well they do the hairline that is the issue. So you may eventually need another transplant to tidy and thicken things up. Some surgeons will lower the hairline to impress the client but then when it grows it is thin. Also take notice when people say that you need to wait 12 months to get the full result. I thought this was bullshit to keep you quiet but mine has thickened after 8 months or so.
