I've been listening to this a lot recently. It is believed that he wrote the song while he was undergoing ICT (Insulin Coma Therapy) which left him pretty much bed ridden because it causes bad chest pains and difficulty breathing but idk if that's true. However you look at it, there's a certain bitterness and a feeling of alienation in the lyrics I can relate to in a way.
