I'm looking into getting one. None can top 6 in my mind, but I'm having difficulty between 9, 10 and 14. Which would you all reccomend?

14 was good but it's full of foids rping and shit, and the game has increasingly changed to cater to that demographic. Maybe a good place if you want to interact with foids, although many of them are internet attention whore types.
I've heard 6 is good. I liked 8, I think I could relate a lot with it with where I was in my life at the time, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it.
I'd say go with 10 or 14 of the ones you mentioned. I just don't think the others would have aged well. And 15 is decent too.

Never played one. Completely fried on JRPGs.
I've played I, II, III, IV, VII, VII-CC, Vll-DC, VIII(haven't finished), X, X-2, XIII, XIII-2, XIII-LR.

Gameplay wise, 8 (Hunting, playing Triple Triad, messing around with the Junction system. A lot of different types of fun to partake in)

I think 6 is overrated
Materia system is a good idea for sure, I just wish the characters had more ways to stand out because of it to be honest.
