I'm no expert. I can't even give you a proper definition of "lean", but we all have an intuitive idea of what it means.

I'd say lean is when your body is firm everywhere, when there is no obvious fat reserve anywhere, just muscle under the skin.

It's not so hard to reach with diet and moderate exercise.

And you can’t get the most attractive body type by just doing those two, you gotta be pretty dedicated to lifting with some cardio

I know it’s popular to say that “Chad can get ripped eating pizza and barely lifting” but nearly every attractive muscular dude I’ve met was super dedicated to the gym and eating clean and healthy with the occasional cheat day

Eating good quality food will just make caloric intake control easier, because your body will not crave any specific nutriment.

You could get lean by eating just junk food, it would just be harder mentally and less healthy.

You can't escape thermodynamics : you don't need to do much exercise as long as your body burns more than it takes in.

The amount of energy required for exercise is actually not much compared to what your body needs just for homeostasis. Consider for instance the fact that your brain alone consume 20% of your energy. That should give you an idea of how energetically expensive our physiological functions are, even when we do nothing.

100+ lb weight loss reporting in. When I started, I wasn't expecting to be Chad, but I thought I at least wouldn't be an invalid anymore. Nope. I have abs and I'm still incel. 200% over for us.

You can, especially with cardio, but you'd just be skinny. A fit male body needs at least 2000 calories a day for maintenance.

Yeah but you’re not gonna get a nice six pack without consistent exercise, right?

tbh I don’t know how often I should exercise. I’ve traditionally tried 2-3 days a week at the least for at least an hour, but it seems like a ton of people are at the gym like 5-6 days a week. Like is that unnecessary or do you need to go that often to get a great body?

Yeah but when you’re overweight you need to eat below maintenance to lose weight so I believe I need to wait until I hit my goal weight before upping my calories to maintenance levels

That's true. Your goal weight is also probably not low enough. I'm at my old goal weight now, but I had to do a lot more to be lean at this weight than just eat broccoli and run on a treadmill.

They like defined muscles and a v-taper. For that you need to be 15% fat at most. Your face looks better when you're lean, too. There's no reason to go much lower than 10% body fat since the point of diminishing returns starts at around 15% and hits HARD at 10%.

I don’t think it’s possible for a Chad to be fat. Fat distorts your true facial features, and it just isn’t pleasant to look at. Dad bod has never been attractive and is only a thing some women are into so they can have a guy who won’t cheat since he isn’t attractive enough to.
There’s a reason why six pack abs and lean muscle are considered to be male beauty standards.
