Does anybody has done that or is willing to try it? Fasting has many benefits, for the body and for the spirit, but here I talk about the soul, the seat of emotions - to come in contact other unwanted emotions like anger, but also mind clarity, overcoming addictions or new direction in life.
Of course this means also fasting from any big external stimulus (drugs)

you can fast and ask god for that.but fasting at least in my experience does not simply eliminate emotions.

English is not my native language. I meant clear, unfiltered emotions - unblunted - not eliminating them. Quite the opposite. But on the other hand, there can transformation happen, I don't doubt that.
Yes, Jesus said about special evil spirits, that this kind does not come out except by prayer and fasting.

But this was foremost a suggestion for all, also atheistcels for not being always a bit sedated trough food and other satisfiers.

I believe in science, the soul (in my humble opinion) is a myth, emotions are signals and neurotransmitters in the brain, to cause emotional changes you'd either have to trick yourself eg. placebo effect, or take therapeutic drugs (prescription drugs not the ones that make you high) .

i think you are searching for an epiphany.you should ask god and talk to a spiritual christian for advice.have you ever read turning the heart to god?

I felt irritable and low-energy on OMAD (one meal a day / intermittent fasting) tbh :feelstastyman:

3 months after I came to faith I fasted for the first time for 3 days and had a special encounter with God (which was not targeted). But that is not what I wanted to talk about here.

Maybe this irritability is a thing we should feel from time to time? But I for myself feel all senses spikes up, genuine joy and anger too and being more centered. One should not do it on important working days.

I have fasted 40 hours for health reasons. I woke up on the second day and puked twice, it felt horrible. Havent dared to fast more than 24 hours after that.
