I mentioned this in my post, but you can usually tell when someone is asking to genuinely know and when they’re just trying to set you up for insults.

In my case, I was asked “Have you EVER had a girflriend?” Where he was obviously expecting me to say no, after I lied and said yes, he started asking for proof, so he obviously wasn’t asking out of actual curiosity.

If you are consistently (or at least somewhat often) asked why you don’t have a girlfriend, especially by women, it’s because you’re clearly attractive enough to get one. No one has ever genuinely asked me because the answer is obvious by just looking at me.

Of course, sometimes they’ll ask you to try to make fun of you, but that obviously doesn’t count and you can usually tell when they’re genuinely asking.
