Whether it's Buddhism, Christianity, Islam or whatever, you need to embrace spirituality.

If you're not sure of your choice, there's nothing wrong with spending a few years exploring all of these faiths slowly.

Personally I still haven't decided fully. I am torn between Buddhism and Christianity. But mostly I am a transhumanist.

As to reason for believing: spirituality is not about reason. Just believe in whatever makes you feel good and doesn't appear too fake or unbelievable. That's how most believers believe.

I want to become an orthodox Christian.

Catholic right now but Christianity seems dead here in Germany.

Transhumanism is the only way. Futurism is the only faith.

God is COPE and not real. Transhumanism is real

Real talk. I'm going to apply to visit Mount Athos as soon as I can get the money together. Beautiful place, extremely spiritual, and AFAIK the only real place in the world where foids are completely banned.

Why not join Mount Athos? Personally, if my chosen studies do not lead to the career I had hoped for, I'll go join a Buddhist monastery in Asia.

I tend to agree. However the possibility that a God exists, while low, cannot be entirely discounted.

I am a Christian, but I dont believe that Christian women are any different than the rest. They only use God as an excuse to reject you

I would but I don't know how it really works. I attend a Greek Orthodox church in my area but I don't think there's an English speaking monastery to join at Mount Athos, meaning I would have to join a Serbian, Greek, or Russian language one. I know they take English-speaking visitors but I doubt they would allow someone in permanently who doesn't speak their language. And from what I've heard they are quite distrusting of outsiders considering all the foids in the West who complain that there's one 10km peninsula in the whole of Europe that they cannot enter and that it's oppressive to them.

Something about female psychology makes them want to invade every space, even a tiny spot that is extremely sacred and it's hugely disrespectful for them to try to sneak in as they have in the past, considering monks literally believe only the Virgin Mary should be allowed to walk the area. Even the non-religious should be able to respect what is essentially a tiny LDARing zone without having to constantly try to fuck it up.

I grew up in the church. I think there may be a god but I believe in dinosaurs and evolution. I honestly don’t know how much that conflicts with being spiritual. I’m not going to deny the breakthroughs made in science.

Guys stop making threads where you are pro religion. It makes us look low IQ. If you want to believe in an invisible sky daddy so be it, but try to keep it to yourselves

Cope.

When you realize all of the women are "Born Again Virgin" used up roasties looking to score a betabux you will resent it in the end.

I believe I will meet Paul Newman when I die and he’ll make me a Chad in the other realm. This may be silly to believe but so is believing in monogamy or karma.

Meditating has really helped me tbh.

If you can truly believe this, then godspeed to you. Way better than being a faithless atheist.

Also, you don't necessarily need to have faith to reap some of the benefits of religion. Meditation and self-discipline, for instance, are great and can be done by an atheist.

Religion keeps low iq people sane.

im an atheist who wishes I could believe in god

Religion keeps low iq people sane.
> low iq: faithcel
> middle iq: atheist
> high iq (realized the brain is an emotional machine and needs spirituality for stability): faithcel

I honestly could not believe in them if I tried, I do understand you utility in believing in paradise if your life is terrible but I have read too much about the history of Religion to take it seriously. I also take solace in the fact that though the truth is uglier than we might like, it is still the truth at the end of the day, and that’s why I’m an atheist.

You might be interested in crypto-religions like transhumanism and singularitarianism, then. These are great for hyper-rational people.

I don't follow religion and am very happy. I don't need any more lies in my life. Besides most religious guys in my country are incels, they think religion will save them.

If you become a faithchad then you'll get some of the faith hoes. You can be a sweaty shit-smelling spic, but if you preach God's word there's a woman who will want you for the anointing.

You actually turned me onto transhumanism a few months back and I’m grateful to you for that. I found it very compelling, but I still have to research it a bit deeper before making any profound conviction over it.

It sounded like a big cope to me when I first discovered it -- I think it was in 2008, I must have been 14 year old and still in high school. The promises sounded great, but the timing delusional. It's only around 2014 that I rediscovered the whole thing. I was taken aback by rapid progress achieved notably in AI and genetics (CRISPR) and this led to me go further in my research. I would recommend "the singularity is near" by Kurzweil for an introduction. You can probably find a free PDF. Though Kurzweil is optimistic on timescales, reading this book from beginning to end has changed my life and outlook on everything. Progress is real, it's happening (contra reactionary discourse) and it's continuing, perhaps even accelerating. It's also unavoidable, because of harsh competition between corporations and government militaries for world supremacy.

You’re right, had I come across it a few years ago before the onset of AI and it’s domination of scientific media, I would probably have taken it for overly speculative nonsense. But it’s clear that the next century is going to usher in the age of AI and genetic engineering and I can only hope they enable us to cast off some of the more restrictive and regressive elements of our biological nature.

So if I become Moslem, die, I get 72 virgins. Not a bad deal.

That goes for any mythical creature, including the rare, IT "Chad"
