I’ve learned now the older I get, unless you’re in some high prestige job, the more you are at a job it almost seems the worse you get at it. Even in those jobs it’s the same though

There is a cutoff. Where you learn as much as you can. And then after you either learn nothing more, or actively get worse via complacency, arrogance, incompetence, whatever else it may be.

This doesn’t apply just to jobs, it applies to many things. I’ve seen people working for 10+ years and they still seem to have less of a clue what they’re doing than a rookie doing it for a year who is a better learner than them

There’s a cutoff you reach and after that point you either stay good at it or just get worse, or for some their cutoff is so low and pathetic that a rookie new to the thing can out perform / out class you in a fragment of the time

Basically everything is generic and predetermined
 
I'd really like to try self-employment or become a small business owner. Do you think it would feel the same?
