Exceptions to the rule, or are our "rules" skewed?

I can think of a few ugly guys that got gfs and wives a couple points above them without moneymaxxing or famemaxxing. Are these just outliers to be ignored or evidence that our rules of attraction are flawed?

Exhibit A - Pickleboy

While this was a minor internet celebrity, he was hardly famous enough to offset his fat ugly appearance and manchild behavior.

Sure, Bridgette hit the wall hard, but it's amazing that a girl like this fell for a fat manchild living in a trailer doing stupid internet videos.

Another one is Boogie. He was fatter and uglier, and still managed to have a decent looking gf.
