An aluminum plant it installed the latest generation of equipment for making aluminum. The new equipment needed half the employees and produced twice the output as before. So 4 times more aluminum per worker. I don't think America is using more aluminum than we were 50+ years ago. So we just need less workers making aluminum than before, yet we get the same production. Some stuff you don't even need to produce as much as before. Like after you already make something, you don't have to keep making it again and again.

Anyway say we needed before 100,000 aluminum workers. And now we need 25,000 to get the same output. What do the other 75,000 do. They become neets or rich retirees or fake government non-jobs. Mega copers say they can 'learn to code' or go into some other industry. What other industry, everything is downsizing the same way. Eg.. tech companies are laying off 100's of thousands of employees now.

The tech industry is eating shit because it is an industry that does very poorly when interest rates rise.

No cheap credit, no shitty web apps.

Automation has been a thing for a long time, you cannot argue that 'now' it is a massive factor when we have been automating societal level services, like finance processing, for decades.

Way I think it is different now, but who knows maybe it won't be.. is there were places to go before. Like other industries that could use people, such as new industries, eg.. tech.

When agriculture was getting automated back in the 1930's, people went into manufacturing. Then from manufacturing into tech, when manufacturing was getting automated faster than the industry was expanding.

Most peoppe are useless never increasing thmself past high school and just as useful unlike me i do valuable work and increase my perception and understanding :feelshmm:

you repeating urself? u made same post some time ago :feelsseriously:

just waiting for my industry to become completely automated once i graduate so i have a bona fide excuse to either rope or move back in w parents and NEET/LDAR for the rest of my miserable ass existence

Yeah when money gets tight the average Joe realises how useless that all is

Yeah, I was talking to a head-of at KPMG and they were trying to justify buying a quantum computer.

Aside from the FOMO of not having one, in what way can you really use it to make money that won't get the AU gov banhammer for it being too good?

All the technology in the world means fuck all if you have no cheap money to buy it with or you work for the Chinese regime, which at that point, will shoot you anyway.

So yeah, I agree. Joe Faggot Hancock doesn't have two sticks to rub together but somehow his useless fucking government is going to hire all these Autists to build automated processes and procedures when they can't balance a budget.

What a LARP.
