I ve already read him complitely. Tho still rereading.
The best start i think would be The Outsider . In the tale the lovecraftian spirit presented
wholly.
As for novelas. You may start with The Shadows over Insmouth. He was obssesed with themes of ugliness and alienage. I think he is indispensable writer for such wretched ,cursed, hopeless, and tortured people as we are. He has a lot of monstrous characters with whom we can symphatise.
