I've had a few. Probably one of the most upsetting experiences ever. You talk for months and then they vanish. I knew a girl but she vanished and told me she found a bf and that was the end of our friendship.

One never specified but simply left and never returned. He was kind enough to tell me he was leaving though and wished the best.

one abandoned me for being too hateful as I would always vent to her.

Some of my roblox friends vanished and moved on with their lives getting into schools and relationships.

One told me he wanted to commit suicide and I never heard from him again.

One was institutionalized for murdering a dog.

i've been that guy. I vanish for a long time then i come back. I can't have too much on my plate.
i simply choose to vanish because i think I'm wasting people's time mostly.
Even tho i go away i never hear from them back usually. They don't seem interested enough to even look for me.
But if i go away i don't want to be contacted anyways but i notice that the person didn't even attempted to go out of their way to reach me.

Which kills me from the inside but i can care less even tho I technically care.
I can't say goodbye either.
I can't call it done.
So i usually go away when i see things are going well before they dump me.
Before someone walks over me i walk over them.
Even though i walk away i remember them every once in a while and i check back on how they are doing on social media.

all my IRL friendships usually ended up on backstabbing, but my online "friendship" usually were nice interactions,
i rather lose friends on my own terms than on theirs.

I always wanted to make friends and I was cucked from that because I didn't have the money for a good PC nor i had the microphone to talk to them.

Now i have the best of the best PC, a headset, a PS5. all things that i couldn't afford earlier and thought it would bring the friends i wanted and needed all bought for nothing no interest to talk to people, no willing to reach out to another human. Unable to make friends and unable to be a goofball online because I'm shy not willing to make the first move nor I know how to keep good lasting friendship.
