The Chivalric code of love is a medieval concept of love that developed in the chivalric culture of the XII–XIII centuries in the south of France.

According to this code, each knight had to choose a lady of his heart and take care of her. The knight considered his chosen one an unattainable ideal and therefore was ready to fight for her in tournaments, write poems and compose songs in her honor.

The central place in the code of chivalrous love was occupied by military exploits in honor of the "beautiful lady" and her glorification. A knight fought in tournaments by attaching his lady's gloves to his helmet and nailing a plaque to his shield extolling her virtue and beauty.

However, despite this, the knight was supposed to have only platonic feelings for his lady and not have a physical relationship with her.
The worship of the lady among the knights was part of the cult of the Beautiful Lady, which originated in southern France, in the county of Provence, and from there quickly spread throughout Western Europe.

Over for medieval knight cels

Yes, and the children of the feudal knights, literally from childhood, in addition to the Bible, knowledge of the Latin language, the ability to ride a horse and wield a sword, among other things, were taught poetry and the ability to create poems for their future lady in order to attract her to herself.

The more I delve into history, the more I realize that the vices we suffer from existed back then, but to a lesser extent.

The spirit of chivalry is not yet established. The Franks consider their wives useful property and protect them accordingly. The punishment for killing your wife is not too severe.
The clergy, who write the church's laws, have long permitted husbands to beat their wives, and secular law follows in many respects the canonical church. The Early Middle Ages were an unimaginably harsh time; not as vicious a society as late Rome, but even more brutal. Celebrities feel it is their natural right to rape any woman they find in a secluded area, and they do so without hesitation or hindrance. It's worth mentioning that the charter of the town of Vilfrench in Gascony, even in the 13th century, allows every man to beat his wife - on condition that she doesn't die from the beatings. In court, the woman is disenfranchised ⁇ she cannot defend herself, and all property she had at the time of the marriage passes to her husband. This custom will continue for several more centuries. Prostitution has become so common that many cities and towns in Europe have legalized it under the control of city authorities.
The right of the first night, at least in theory, allows a lord to deprive his vassal's bride of her virginity.
It is worth admitting, however, that simping in the form of poems to ladies and jousting tournaments began after the 13th century, due to the fact that knights from Western Europe began to adopt the customs of French knights before that.

Lmao,

chivalry in and of itself is basically if simping were an ideology.

The knight is full of life: his sturdy body is trained, and the food, almost exclusively consisting
of spicy seasoned meat, and intoxicating drinks excite his blood. His strengths are not intelligence and scholarship, but cunning and strategy. Conscience doesn't play a big role, and it's easy to calm it down if it suddenly wakes up.
Violence, brutality, robbery and extortion are still part of the knightly
craft and determine a man's behavior, but over time his self-image changes. Virtues are being formed, which are now called "chivalrous". Over the course of several years, there has been a change in mentality: men practice the art
of singing, dancing and composition in order to earn the favor of the court ladies. They wear more elegant clothes, get handkerchiefs,
and realize the need and benefits of washing. They also hone their witty conversation skills.

No, the image of a knight that now sits in the minds of Most appeared only after the 13th century, and then only because the traditions of French chivalry began to influence the German, English and other knights of Western Europe. Knights before the 13th century were essentially PMCs, mercenaries who listened to their overlord (the king) in exchange for land, which the knight could rent to the peasants to work on it and pay the knight a rent. A knight is a mercenary of the king and nothing more, he does not care about romanticism or codes that will appear later. He could rape and rob his enemies until the 13th century.

Courtly love arose between 1100 and 1400 as a form of erotic sentiment. The flood of ballads, songs, poems, spiritual writings, and philosophical treatises contributes to the endless triumph of love. It has an effect even on its opponents, its critics, its mockers -- there are many of them -- and they make it clear how threatening they find new ideas, their popularity and their appeal. So in the 14th century, the knight Geoffroy de la Tour Landry wrote a remarkable book in Angers, and his goal was clear: "To teach his daughters the traditions of love". In fact, the work contains a series of warnings so that daughters do not stray from the path of virtue. The knight describes all the dangers (such as the temptation of love whispers, kisses, and the like) so precisely that it becomes quite clear how powerful courtly love is and how much the conservative father worries about it. But it's not just the virgin's chastity that's in danger. The ideal of courtly love is on the brink of collapse. At times, it even seems to ridicule religion and the institution of marriage, or at least to weaken the power they have over society. The ladies who took part in the court of Poitiers' court of love strongly rejected marriage and glorified adultery. The troubadours who called their ladies "Madonnas" came too close to blasphemy. And in Cretin de Troie, we find a rather daring scene in which Lancelot he comes to Guinevere's room, spends several hours of "pleasant and sweet play" with her in bed, and bows and kneels at parting, as if in front of an altar or holy relics. By itself, the code of courtly love is far from blasphemy, but it identifies love with a woman — and the church fathers are afraid of this, like the devil incense.
Thomas Aquinas goes further than others, categorically stating that kissing a woman
or touching her with lust, even if intercourse does not occur, is a mortal sin.
The southern regions of medieval France, in short, are to blame for the degradation of chivalry from formidable warriors in simp.

The black knight turned away from chivalry and gone rogue knowing the world was bullshit.

when civilizations started forming is when simping started

Modern day chivalrous knights = reddit simps

They lived in a feudal system where they have to protect a family [The Royal Family] just to get by in life. The way we romanticise them however they were never romantic or handsome just military men who died less from war and more from disease.

This is why I would have preferred to be a bandit or common mercenary in Medieval times

This makes sense. Civilization needs obedient men who will not pose a threat to civilization, therefore, simping serves as a tool to force a man to obey the laws, the state, pay taxes and not commit a crime.

Based, Being a bandit back then must have been cool. You don't have a king who can send you far away to war, even on a crusade, you don't have to take care of your land, protect your peasants, you don't have to pay taxes or humiliate yourself in front of a lord who stands above you in the hierarchy.
