On the another hand, I also have these giant coolers (not necessarily air conditioners, but a giant fan blowing air with water (you have to wash them or they blast bacteria over the air))

If you have a decently large apartment, these can be carried up and are more efficient than conventional ACs; I had it shipped straight from Shenzhen from Taobao.

The climate in these countries are usually quite temperate with summer highs usually being about 25-26°C or 76-77°F and energy is very expensive.
