Biden voters are significantly more likely to vote by mail this election, due to the pandemic.

So the group of people that this exit poll captures are more likely to be Trump supporters.

You shouldn't make a direct comparison to 2016 exit poll results because there was no pandemic in 2016. Pretty flawed statistical reasoning.
