In the same way that if you take a dangerous drug you might get addicted and then die, ESG is very similar. Companies try ESG hoping they'll get something from it, and before they know it their company is full of DEI hires and their products have lots of problems and compromised storylines and... nobody is buying them and the whole company goes out of business.

And it happens again and again and again. These companies just can't stay away from it. They just want to try it. And then that starts them on the downhill slope.

ESG is moral sanitizing, admitting that you destroy all shred your humanity for money is too much for the corporate elite. Saying that you hired 20% more “marginalized” people feels better than saying you sold 20% more weapons of war or trapped 20% more families into inescapable debt.

I mean, I'm sure that drug users have lots of reasons for starting too. Whatever the reason is though it doesn't change that pattern that you have a bit of it, and then it often spirals out of control and destroys you.

It might be partly image why these companies take up ESG. Or maybe they feel they need to to avoid bad coverage by the press.
