I did some research about this, and it seems like most of so-called performative males are determined as such based on the way they dress — unsurprisingly — and it's essentially a descriptor that has lost its meaning because of how loosely its used. I do think there are men who put on a performance in an attempt to appeal to women, and it doesn't necessarily entail disagreement with everything they are saying, but not to the extent they are masquerading as; they are traitors to their own people. Obviously, someone who held completely opposing views to women would recognize the futility of attempting to appease them and would not perform, but the man who is more in the middle may still perform to some extent.
