While not exactly the same, these articles about solitary confinement describes the effects of being cut off from the world, and the mental deficiencies that follow.

Of course, these sources may not be the most reliable, and you’ll see how everyone’s against this prison use. But the fact is, incels have been “locked up” away from social opportunities due to our looks. And if we were ever to be “freed,” we’d never integrate with society, because we know the corrupt inner workings of it.

Don't we already know the effects of social isolation? I mean, that that many of these forums posts are about

I’m comparing our social isolation to solitary confinement, and how inhumane it is.

If prison had internet I would volunteer to go.

My NEET life really fucked up my social skills, I legit struggle when I go outside and speak to reception or cashiers or whatever. Like I get brain fog and dunno what to even say.

i would make that just bedroom google headphone not feeling much thing for some money tbh, i guess i can do that for a month
( when i can listen to music )

You can't compare modern social isolation with prison solitary confinement, in prison solitary you have absolutely no means of external stimuli, no computer, no music, no books, nothing. At least one of the benefits of being socially isolated and free today is that it's unlikely any of us will ever exhaust the entertainment and resources of the internet. What problems could there be if you just choose to distract yourself 24/7?

Social isolation probably leads to permanent changes to your brain structure.
