I make this point with absolute seriousness. Everybody always claims all the negatives of drug use but very rarely do you see people talk about the positives. Drugs (depending on how they are used, obviously) can genuinely make your life better in a lot of ways. Prescription amphetamines can help you become super productive and motivated. Weed, opioids and benzos can relax you and provide you with anxiety relief unlike anything else, as well as making you feel really euphoric and providing you with a genuinely fun time. Psychedelics can greatly help your mental health and give you insights that produce some of the deepest and and most beautiful existentially philosophical thoughts and writings that mankind has ever produced. Stimulants can be super fun and also motivate you to be more productive. My personal opinion on drugs is that they can be amazing if used right and in a responsible manner but they can also have a lot of negative effects. Let's be realistic here, it's not all sunshine and rainbows but it is also definitely not all doom and gloom either. Of course the positives don't apply to drugs like Krokodil or Xylazine that have extremely horrible effects on the user and all the potential "positives" are completely outweighed by the horrific effects they have on the user. I believe drugs are absolutely a spectrum when it comes to danger relative to their use and whether they are worth using or not. Most people would consider drugs like meth or heroin as not worth doing because despite being ultra euphoric substances that can produce highs unmatched by almost anything, they can also be highly addictive and can cause severe side effects in many cases, which is a completely understandable and sane thing to think. However a lot more people would consider something like marijuana or even MDMA as worth doing because they provide incredible, euphoric (and sometimes therapeutic) mental effects while also being SIGNIFICANTLY safer than the others I mentioned. As I said, I believe drugs are a spectrum when it comes to danger and whether they are worth doing, they are absolutely not a one-size-fits-all thing like the fucking government would try to brainwash you into believing. There are lots of drugs out there that can be very therapeutic if used right, and I think we can all agree that some drugs are objectively much safer to use than others. What do you think?
