I feel like when movies or TV shows force or shoehorn in sex and love for the sake of "humanizing" the characters, it just makes it less interesting. When I watch movies and TV shows, I'm not trying to watch people having sex or making out, for that there's porn, I'm trying to watch an interesting plot unfold and romance almost never has interesting plots to offer. Most romance in movies and TV feels forced and cringy. The only show I can think of where the "romance" actually makes sense and has a purpose in the plot is Breaking Bad because the dysfunction between Walter White (a married man) and Skyler White is integral to the unfolding plot. I feel like the lack of representation and the general lackluster representation of incels and virgin characters in movies (when they are represented) dehumanizes people who are going through the struggles that we are. The lack of representation is surprising because a lot of men are virgins and yet most of us can't name more than 2 virgin characters in media off the top of our heads. It is especially infuriating when the most obnoxious and skin crawlingly annoying characters are the ones who get the women. Makes me wanna smash my fucking TV sometimes. It would be cool to see more virgin/incel representation in movies. And it would also be cool if movies and shows weren't so focused on sex and relationships and were more focused on building an interesting and sharp plot.
