At least in the case of movies and games some of the spending goes to actually making the product rather than only to overpaid parasites and there are tangible results for the increased spending, most physical sports are basically the same at the professional level as they are if you just got a bunch of guys together with a ball and a field, the skill level wouldn't be as high but how much does that even matter? I have more tolerance for watching pro level sports such as racing where there is a more tangible justification for the insane costs associated with the sport especially at high levels along with it being infeasible to have any sort of low level local leagues.
