Humour is a complex subject but there are people who tried to understand it and built a theory.

There are a few popular theories on humor, one is the benign violation theory. It's one of the different ways to create humour, and I think it seems somewhat natural for the INTP. Basically, it uses the interplay between Ne and Si (extroverted intuition and introverted sensing).
