Does dragon's dogma 1 get good or not

I started the game last night. I got it on sale for $2. It was ok but I got bored and dropped it after defeating the ogre. Does it get any good?

The only "good" part of Dragon's Dogma was the pawns system, a gimmick. Beyond that is just a generic fantasy game.

It's only good when you play as a mage. Melee was extremely boring after you jump at bigger enemy two or three times.

But you have to tolerate the ox cart mission where you have stay close to the slow ox and you can kick it to make it go faster but it lowers it's health once you manage to endure that dog shit mission the game gets good
