I used to but eventually I was threatened by my therapist and father that if i kept doing it I would be thrown into the institution. Anytime i was angry/upset I would rip my face to shreds bleeding and leaving scars with my nails

Edit: I don't do drugs either, trying to stop coffee/caffeine also from overdosing like 500mg + from pills and like...

Doing things for attention is kinda vague. Like, if someone is seriously fucked up and doing things as a cry for help, it doesn't mean they don't deserve help. Let's say you're really depressed but showing no outward signs, that just means it will come as a shock when you off yourself.

I doubt they're doing it as a plea for help. They're doing it for the validation of people giving them positive attention. They think they don't get enough positive attention directed towards themselves, so they resort to doing stuff like this.
