waste of time. Computers are going to mop the floor with you and the skill isn't transferable to anything real. It takes a shit ton amount of time to get good, and for what exactly? Women aren't going to be attracted to you because of chess.

I played a lot of online chess from start of 2017 to April 2018 I went from not knowing the rules to like 1560 blitz in lichess (not that good but I was happy to make substantial progress), but I realised that you need to invest massive ammounts of time, and that discouraged me from continuing. I wish I had started when I was little, I could have probably been good because I used to have lot of motivation to be successful in life and was very obsessive from ages 5 to 17. A thing I noticed is that talent in chess is not that important, that it is mostly about pattern recognition. Fischer for example took like 7 years to reach about 1700 uscf rating, yet he became one of the best of all time because of all the time he studied and practiced

pretty much, it's all about time you put in to become a pattern recognizer. Like, good job at becoming a human computer. Even normies recognize this is useless and generally why nobody gives a fuck about chess.

I have never won a game of chess because I am retarded. I literally can't beat the computer except on the easy difficulty.

Chess is not a waste of time and the fact since i been playing it for awhile is a good way to cope and have fun. i felt that i understand the game better after i swallowed the black pill.
most chess players understand each other to be incels at least to some degree. trying to become a human computer has its own appeal
